Why does the insurance industry love Applied CSR24? The real question to ask is, “Why wouldn’t you love it?” Whether you and your agency are new to Applied CSR24’s offerings and are just starting to configure your company’s agency branded portal, or you’re seasoned experts designing custom forms, CSR24 offers value in every crevice of its capabilities. From both the agency and client perspective, CSR24, Applied’s cloud-based product, is the 24/7 answer you have been looking for.
In this article, I’ve gathered a few of the favorite Applied CSR24 tips and tricks I learned while working on the agency side — formally known as Premium Certificate Administration — to share with my friends at the Applied Client Network. These tips may just make you fall in love with CSR24.
Could These Tips Turn You Into a CSR24 Aficionado?
1. Turn on the named insured-driven option.
Do you have a large named insured schedule? Rather than creating a certificate template for each named insured, turn on the named insured-driven option. This will allow you to preselect the named insured prior to the certificate template selection, therefore reducing the number of certificate templates needed.
2. Add to your “text library” and utilize it — this is the description of operations’ best friend!
CSR24 will allow you to add in a “text library,” which means you can house wording commonly used on certificates of insurance. Once created, at the holder level you select the wording you wish to include from the text library. For example, if additional insured status applies where required by written contract, you can pull this from your library and add this into the description of operations without having to type this out every time. The text library can be set to “all insureds” or specific to an insured. The choice is yours.
3. Import and export your existing schedule of holders.
Applied offers both import and export capabilities in CSR24 to update your contacts, locations/named insureds, vehicles, drivers*, equipment* and holders. From a certificate perspective, this means you can export your existing schedule of holders from your agency management system and import a schedule of holders into CSR24. Each holder will attach to the proper template with all data carried over. Come renewal, you can export your schedule of holders and have your client note any certificate holders no longer needed at renewal. Then, you can import back in and those holders no longer needed are inactivated in a few clicks.
4. Utilize form designer effectively.
Applied offers form designer — do not miss out! By uploading a PDF into CSR24, you can custom design and build forms to work hand-in-hand with your certificates. For example, by uploading a C105.2, you can add custom fields throughout: insured name, certificate holder, policy number, etc. Attach this at the certificate template level when workers compensation is included, and the C105.2 will automatically be completed each time.
5. Take advantage of the help section and live chat feature!
The help section has answers to most of the questions, concerns, and problems we have encountered through a step-by-step guide included for both premium certificate administration and self-service administration. The live chat feature allows users to chat in live time with an Applied agent who will walk you through any issues and answer any questions you may have.
Overall CSR24 has been an integral part of the certificate process and a tremendous value-added service to our clients. This article is just a small glimpse into five tips and tricks uncovered in my tenure that I use every day to keep my desk running smooth. Not only are we able to breeze through the certificate process from the agencies’ perspectives, we are also able to give our clients 24/7 access to issuing certificates and viewing policy documents and first reports of claims, just to name a few, via a branded self-service portal. The capabilities Applied has given us with the CSR24 platform are unmatched.
