2022 Agency-Carrier Digital Adoption Trends
Technology | Bob Bardwell, Chief Operating Officer, Ivans | Nov 15 2022
The industry is discovering the spark that happens when insurance intersects with the latest technology. In the Ivans 2022 Connectivity Survey, 90% of agencies report placing more business with carriers that provide connectivity. There are many benefits of digital connectivity, but time savings and faster service are at the top of the list, according to our respondents.
Carriers and MGAs become preferred partners by making it easy to do business, prioritizing agency communication, and working towards connected and streamlined workflows. Brokers and agencies are looking for connectivity and value from their carrier partners.
The industry is hungry to find and place the right risks, with 75% of agents saying they can’t find or access a market to quote a risk. Luckily, technology is here to help with real-time appetite capabilities.
And if you’re not purging paper and embracing download, you’re missing out on the time and money you could save. We’re happy to report 88% of carriers use eDocs and Messages to automatically send documents and messages to agency partners’ management systems – up 17% from last year!
With agents’ preferred methods of interacting with carriers leaning toward more automated and integrated solutions, our report results prove that everyone is trying to strike a balance between technology and human interaction. There is value in both, and it’s all about finding what works best for you. Use this report to see what your peers and partners say about digital connectivity in insurance.
